We use St. Ewe, a multi-award-winning, family-run, free-range egg producer based on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, for all our needs. We use two different varieties; one for our delicious poached eggs and another for our batter.
St. Ewe have been farming for over 40 years and have dedicated themselves to the craft of producing eggs in the right way. All hens are reared to exacting standards that comply with the RSPCA Assured accreditation and their welfare is paramount. Good quality feed, frequent physical check ups and frequent land rotations ensures for the best possible produce for the best possible pancakes.
Every single St. Ewe egg comes from free-range hens that have plenty of space to roam in the clean, fresh air. The eggs are collected by hand just after the hatches open and the hens head out for their morning scratch and stroll.
We believe that high quality eggs can only come from well cared for birds, and at St. Ewe the chicken comes first and always will.
